Easytec Instrument Measures Belt Tension

Hutchinson has introduced the Easytec tensiometer, which allows the user to check his or her belt tension and thus optimise the transmission's lifespan. When it comes to checking belt tension, the company recommends the cord vibration method. This precision method requires a tensiometer. Easytec is an electronic frequency measurement instrument, comprising a sensor and a microprocessor.

It can provide measurements ranging from a few Hertz to 800Hz on all types of belts and profiles. Easytec is insensitive to external, environmental vibrations. With its wide measurement range, the user can measure tension on the short strands of model H and J belts mounted on mini-compressors, conveyors and small electrical and DIY appliances.
