Banner is introducing the QM26 and QMH26, a 316 stainless steel product, designed to serve the food and pharmaceutical industry where plastic sensors are not acceptable. Food and Drug safety concerns have introduced a market need for a more cleanable product that can stand up to hot high pressure and chemical wash down.

Exposed threads and crevices that are difficult to clean and sanitize on food and pharmaceutical production equipment are closely scrutinized by field inspectors. Both models provide a beyond rugged and cleanable alternative designed for the harshest of washdown environments. It includes a coaxial polarized retro reflective option for clear object detection and excellent back ground suppression models. The QMH26 model is hygienically designed, featuring smooth stainless surfaces and a self draining housing shape.

With IO-Link, the machine builder can achieve point-to-point communication over the last meter of cable when the amplifier is connected to IO-Link to Bus Network adapter.

A focus on a simple set-up and configuration, stable performance, and competitive pricing guided the development of the DF-G1. An updated mechanical design, with an improved fiber clamp and a sleek look-and-feel, makes the DF-G1 a compelling upgrade to the D10 product line. Benefits of IO-Link Communications
  • Sensor parameters can be changed, save to and uploaded from a PC using a USB to IO-Link converter and standard DTM (Device Type Manager) files and a FDT (Field Device Tool) container software such as PACTware. This enables storing and documentation of the sensor parameter lists for auditing or replacement of sensors.
  • The second output (white wire / Pin 2) continues to operate at full response speed when communication is occurring over the IO-Link output (black wire / Pin 4) allowing both a high speed response time output and sensor performance logging to occur in simultaneously.

The DF-G2 series is the high speed version of the DF-G fiber optic amplifier family. The DF-G2 was designed to achieve the world’s fastest response speed and precise repeatability for fiber optic sensing applications. A much brighter LED and a more effectively coupled optical system was designed to extend sensing range and improve speed. The result is a sensor that can achieve 10 microsecond response time with 5 microsecond repeatability and detection ranges exceeding the competition.

Development of additional DF-G2 fiber amplifiers with specialized firmware for small object counting and models with white, green, and blue LED colors for registration mark applications is underway.

The T18 EZ-BEAM sensor line in a rugged nickel-plated, die-cast zinc metal housing to withstand extremely harsh environments. The new infrared LED models were created to enhance object detection of multicolored packages in applications requiring fixed distance background suppression.

The TM18 offers a metal, mechanically robust construction which is ideal for conveyors in heavy duty machine environments and the sensor is IP69K rated for non-corrosive wet environments in some food or beverage applications. The TM18 series is available in four different sensing modes.

List prices of most VL fiber models are 25% less than comparable standard models.

The LE250 is the latest addition to the L-Gage LE Family of Sensors, providing the same robust housing, intuitive user interface and linear array technology as the LE550. The LE250 is an easy-to-use and reliable sensor, offering high performance across difficult targets like metal or black rubber.

The LE250's optics have been optimized for improved performance over the 100 to 400 mm range. With a resolution of 0.02 mm out to 250 mm, and a resolution below 0.2 mm out to 400 mm, the LE250 provides better repeatability and accuracy than the LE550 for solving applications where more precision is needed. Additionally, the smaller spot size is ideal for detecting smaller features and provides enhanced performance across varying colors, including multicolored packaging.

With many competitors priced closer to $1000, the LE250 provides a performance/price ratio unmatched by the competition.



Building upon the success of the QL50 and QL55 sensors, Banner’s error-proofing and luminescence sensor product line has expanded by introducing easy-to-use and very sensitive luminescence sensors which can detect luminescent marks, coatings, fluids, and objects on luminescent backgrounds, irregular or reflective surfaces. The new sensors implement a sensitivity adjustment which simulates a gain potentiometer with 2 push buttons. The uniform and intense line of emitted ultraviolet (UV) light averages over textured or irregular surfaces making detection easier than in the past.

The QL56 sensor is a high performance luminescence sensor which features six ultra violet (UV) LEDs that create a uniform and intense line of UV light. Thus, luminescence marks on irregular or textured surfaces such as wood, textile, or cast surfaces are more detectable. The linear shape of the emitted light can be aligned to the shape of the luminescence mark to reduce switch point variability.

The QL51 sensor is a cost effective solution with easy setup and installation. The operator adjusts the sensitivity of the sensor using the two button user interface which operates much like a gain potentiometer. The QL51 emits a line of UV light formed by 4 UV LEDS.

Both sensors feature bipolar (1 NPN & 1 PNP) outputs. The QL56 includes an analog voltage output proportional to how much light is being reflected to the sensor by the luminescent surface. This may be useful for lower contrast applications.

With the ability to transfer up to 10 gigabits per second (Gbps) of data, TURCK’s new M12 X-Code connector increases throughput and efficiency in high-end systems and applications. The M12 X-Code connector offers superior signal strength for high-speed Ethernet data transfers, compared to traditional M12 connectors that support up to 10/100 megabits per second (Mbps) Ethernet. Its ability to handle high bandwidth files and minimize transfer time reduces data bottlenecks and improves performance.

To achieve 10 Gbps Ethernet transmission speed, the M12 X-Code connector features advanced shielding design paired with Category 7 copper cable. Each of the four data pairs are shielded from each other within the connector, providing increased isolation against cross talk, or unwanted signal coupling from one balanced twisted pair to another.

Distance isn’t an issue with the updated 8.4- and 10.4-inch HG3G OI touchscreens. When you need access to your machine or equipment, but can’t get to the factory floor or even to the office, all you need is a computer, PDA or Smartphone and you can remotely access, monitor and control your touchscreen through a web browser. It’s that simple! 

“You can monitor current values or processes, click pushbuttons to control operation, print, switch screens or even change program values just as if you were in front of your touchscreen on site,” according to Luisa Muyco, Product Marketing Engineer at IDEC. The HG3G OI touchscreen can be mounted in either portrait or landscape mode depending on your space requirements and supports PictBridge Protocol for USB printers, which allows you to print screen images or the alarm log history. And depending on your application, the expansion MicroSmart I/O module (mounted on the back of the HG3G), which provides simple I/O control, now has the option to perform independently of the touchscreen scan time by using Cyclic Script.

TCI is proud to announce the release of the HarmonicGuard® Passive 5% harmonic filter.

The HarmonicGuard Passive, or HGP for short, offers users 5% iTHD performance with a host of additional features to meet most needs, including:

A 150 amp version of TCI’s 480V HarmonicGuard Active (HGA) filter is now available.  This new version can correct for up to 450 horsepower motor load, lowering the cost per corrective amp below comparable systems.   

A variety of options, including Type 1, Type 3R and Type 12 enclosures, wall or free standing floor mounts and the ability to be connected in an MCC section, provide the ultimate flexibility in mounting the unit in virtually any situation.  The 150 amp HGA has a 25% smaller footprint than competitors' 150 amp units allowing for maximum use of floor space.

Multiple communications options and a large, built-in, 65k touchscreen HMI display provide superior connectivity capabilities including the ability to remotely control and monitor system performance.  Communication options include Modbus RTU over RS485, Modbus TCP/IP, Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet and a portable HMI unit known as the HGA-HMI.
