ABB's 800xA extended automation system serves as a platform for integrated process and power automation. The company said that the system provides unified operations to increase productivity and power reliability for process manufacturing customers.

The combination of these systems into one offers savings for customers in terms of costs and manpower. By integrating systems on the 800xA platform, customers can optimise the design and performance of their process and power automation systems and see additional benefits in reduced maintenance, engineering and overall lifecycle costs. The initial investment costs for an integrated system can be 20 per cent less than the cost of two non-integrated systems, according to ABB.
