AC Tech SCF Series IP20 V/f Control

This truly flexible sub-micro drive gives you the compact size you need for your panel layout while delivering on the functions and features your process demands. The SCF Series can be used with 3-phase AC induction motors rated from 1/4 HP up to 30HP (0.18 - 22 kW) on voltages from 120V single-phase to 590 V three-phase. With 18 isolated terminals (5 logic inputs, 2 logic outputs, 2 analog inputs and 2 analog outputs plus RS485 Modbus Serial Communication), the SCF Series is ideal for motion control applications from the simple to the complex. Like all AC Tech sub-micro drives, the SCF Series drives employ the EPM memory technology for fast and efficient programming. AC input line filters are available for all sub-micro drives to meet European requirements for susceptibility and emissions of electrical and radiated noise (EN 61800-3 and EN 5501). The filter is designed to mount to the electrical panel and has provisions for mounting the drive directly to the face of the filt

Electromagnetic Braking Systems in Wind Turbines

Our brakes have been in use for many years in wind power installations and special requirements of this field of application are high reliability, long maintenance cycles, resistance to environmental influences and a tight braking-torque tolerance. For pitch drives, we have developed stored-spring brakes as holding brakes that have to display a specific mode of emergency manner even after a failure. The brake casing is encapsulated or suitable for tachometer mounting. In azimuth drives, brakes from our modular BFK458 series are used. They keep the turbine aligned in the wind. In the event of a fault, the brakes have to act as a friction clutch to enable the gondola to move with the wind. In the offshore area, the requirements for corrosion protection and robustness are very high. Encapsulated version with special surface protection are used here.
