Tablet PC Withstands Extreme Mobile Applications

American Industrial Systems has introduced a mobile rugged military tablet PC featuring military rated environmental engineering compliance for harsh environments. The rugged tablet PCs are powered by the new Intel Atom Processor, built for low power, high performance and efficient operation. The tablet PC is said to have an elegant, practical design that features aluminium-magnesium alloy construction with individually sealed ports for complete IP54 waterproof and dustproof protection.

The unit is engineered to military 810F shock, vibration, temperature, humidity, dust, and drop standards to withstand the most extreme mobile applications. American Industrial Systems' rugged tablet with touch screen comes with an integrated lithium-ion battery, enabling it to be used on the go and in outdoor environments with ease. By utilising high-brightness and Transflective technology, the company said it can provide optimum visibility in direct sunlight conditions where standard tablets would fail.

The ergonomically designed handheld rugged tablet PC features programmable buttons and human-machine interface (HMI) touch-screen technology for quick and easy navigation. Staying connected is simple with integrated 802.11b/g Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modules, which allow easy connection to wireless networks and Bluetooth devices without the need for external hardware. Where a wireless internet connection in a non-Wi-Fi enabled area is required, the unit has an integrated PCMCIA slot to allow the addition of wireless modems and third-party devices such as GPS.

The American Industrial Systems commercial off-the-shelf rugged tablet PC provides a mobile automation, mobile communication and mobile terminal to industrial, utility and commercial environments where reliability, quality, flexibility and service are paramount.
