SymCom, Inc. has introduced their ISS-105 IS Super Cell, a "smart," five-channel, intrinsically safe, multiple pump controller which meets UL 913 6th Edition (Aug 8, 2002).

Microcontroller-based, the IS Super Cell is capable of performing multiple duties and can operate as a pump controller for eight different pumping configurations where duplex, triplex, quadplex and duplex SPS (separate pump stop) pumping methods are possible.

Its versatility makes it ideal for use in a variety of industries including municipal water, wastewater treatment, chemical plants, manufacturing, mining, agriculture, forest service fire protection systems and other operations that cannot afford to be shut down, or risk the possibility of an explosion or fire caused by unsafe equipment.

The IS Super Cell can indicate low, high and out-of-sequence alarms and has a variable lag pump delay setting. Pumps can be controlled in alternating or non-alternating modes or with one non-alternating pump to employ a jockey or emergency pump which can be run every 50 cycles of the lead float to keep it working freely. Pumps can easily be disabled at any time when taken out of service for repair or maintenance.

When used as a five-channel relay, all five channels of the IS Super Cell can be set to positive or negative logic with the possibility of two latched relays and relay five can be configured as a delay-on-make or delay-on-break output with a variable time delay. Its compact package is DIN rail or surface mountable.

SymCom has manufactured a quality line of voltage monitors for nearly 30 years. These products protect motors from problems such as phase loss, phase reversal, overvoltage, undervoltage, voltage unbalance, and phase/frequency shift. The Model 460 combines unsurpassed motor protection and control with finger-safe wiring, easy installation, and LED fault indication.

The Model 460 comes standard with four adjustable settings: nominal voltage, restart delay time, unbalance percentage trip point, and trip delay time. When a harmful condition is detected, an output relay is deactivated after the selected time (Trip Delay). The output relay reactivates after power line conditions return to an acceptable level for the selected time (Restart Delay). Fault diagnostics and run conditions are displayed by two indicator LEDs: the red LED flashes or stays solid to indicate different fault conditions, and the green LED flashes during the restart delay and stays solid when the output relay is energized.

The Model 460 is useful in many industries for countless applications. These industries include: mining, agriculture, building trades, chemical, fire protection, HVAC, municipal water, wastewater treatment, pulp and paper, refining, and many others. TURCK Inc. introduces a new expanded line of ring sensors with higher sensitivity, new mounting features, accessories, housing styles and CE approval. The Q style (rectangular) family has grown with the addition of the Q80 (114x80x40 mm) housing. The Q80 style is available with a 50 or 65 mm ring diameter. Just like the smaller ring style sensors, the Q80 is equipped with a static output.

Innovative enhancements to the existing ring sensors provide even more sensing solutions from TURCK. Specifically, the S32 (175x100x32 mm) large ring sensors have been technically improved and now provide excellent adjustable sensitivity. Its modular construction enables both combined and remote installation of the ring and amplifier. With these recent improvements, this sensor now meets CE requirements. Based on modifications to the W30 (70x35x30 mm) mid-size ring sensor, TURCK now offers the W30S housing with enhancements to the existing design. The quick disconnect can be mounted on top of the housing instead of the side. This enhancement allows the cable to be directly parallel to a tube carrying the sensing target. Accessories for mounting the ring sensor directly onto a pipe or tube are also offered from TURCK .

The Q style ring sensors and accessories are space saving and easy to mount. With the additional styles and enhancements to the existing ring sensors, TURCK is able to meet all kinds of application requirements and continue to offer the broadest sensing product line in the industry.

TURCK Inc. has announced a new addition to their growing line of valve position sensors, which have been a part of TURCK's product offering for several years. The original DS20 sensors have provided a quality solution to valve position feedback with several styles to choose from. New market demand has suggested that a variety of sensor styles are necessary to provide solutions across the board. For this reason, we have designed the new DSU35 housing style. This new version was designed with certain markets in mind, such as chemical handling and processing. The DSU35 also offers several advantages in general applications, making it a nice complementary product to the DS20. The new DSU35 is quite versatile.

With a single sensor and target puck, we are able to mount to several different actuator sizes without the need for any adapters or spacer plates. Unlike other valve position sensors, the DSU35 can be used on valve stem heights of 20, 30 or 50 mm with outer mounting hole dimensions of 80 or 130 mm. Versions are available in DC, AC/DC and NAMUR with several output options to choose from. Included in this is a new AS-i version which is not only compatible with the Actuator Sensor Interface protocol, it is also able to provide direct valve control, eliminating the need for a separate source. There is also a terminal chamber version available, which is often a requirement in chemical process applications where conduit must be used.
