Haydon Kerk Motion Solutions Releases 36mm Linear Actuator Configuration that Replaces Existing 42mm Packages

Haydon Kerk Motion Solutions, a premier manufacturer of linear motion products, has released a new version of its popular 36mm G4 linear actuator. This new configuration includes a special adapter plate that allows the smaller 36mm OD unit to replace 42mm and 46mm units in existing applications.

Performance of the 36mm G4 linear actuator not only exceeds the performance of comparable size actuators, it approaches the performance of larger 42mm and 46mm linear actuators from various manufacturers. The 36mm unit with the integrated adapter plate allows users to replace existing 42 and 46mm units easily by using the same bolt pattern and pilot surface.

Among the advantages of substituting the 36mm G4 linear actuator include a smaller linear actuator body, which is especially important when space is a premium, and a lower cost system, compared with the larger-size units. With the G4 linear actuator, both can be accomplished without sacrificing performance or lifespan. Force output range for the G4 linear actuator is from 70N to 260N (16lb to 58lb).

The G4 linear actuator architecture employs the latest technologies to extend reliability and meet high-performance requirements. The design utilizes optimized teeth geometry along with high-energy neodymium magnets, resulting in a higher continuous force output in a small package. With 20% higher output force across the entire speed range compared with other designs of similar size, the G4 incorporates the latest custom-engineered plastics and larger bearings for greater rotor support and higher axial load capability.

The 36mm linear actuator is ideal for a wide range of applications, including medical equipment, bar code scanning devices, printing equipment, laboratory instrumentation and other mechanisms that require high force in a small package. As with other Haydon stepper motor line actuators, three configurations are available: Captive, Non-Captive, and External Linear.
