The Deeter Group has introduced a temperature-compensated liquid volume dispenser for applications, including the dosing of chemicals, colours or flavourings or the control of any liquid being dispensed in a manufacturing or laboratory process.

Users can control the dispenser externally and collect data for logging and archiving using the provided USB datalink and control software suite. The dispenser — which is powered by a low-voltage supply — can measure volumes over a flow rate range of between 0.6 and 5.0 litres per minute.

Dytran Instruments has introduced the 3326A series of low-noise accelerometers, which are particularly targeted for use in flight-testing applications, being compatible with standard aircraft onboard power supplies (20 to 32V DC). The products are part of Dytran’s line of VDC-powered instrumentation and, as such, may be compatible with existing installations from other manufacturers that use similar principles, the company claims.

Available in two different models with sensitivities of 10 and 100mV/g, the 3326A series accelerometers feature ceramic sensing elements operating in shear mode and packaged in a rugged titanium housing.

As Ofcom announces its auction plans for the wireless spectrum designated for 4G services such as high speed mobile broadband access, LPRS, Europe’s leading supplier of short-range radio devices, announces the introduction of the ARW-2400-2700-10 directional antenna for WiMax and WiFi applications. Operating in the 2.4-2.7GHz frequency band and already selling in quantities of tens of thousands, the ARW-2400-2700-10 antenna meets the existing requirements of wireless communications infrastructure and 3G communications operators and is also designed to meet the needs of 4G systems as they become available from 2014.

WiMax is the latest generation of wireless broadband and offers improvements in stability and reliability over existing systems. Major deployment of WiMax is set to roll out in the UK once Ofcom make available the 2.6GHz spectrum and operators and infrastructure vendors are gearing up to take advantage of the improvements it will offer users. Developments taking place in the WiMax 2.4-2.7GHz frequency band include systems intended to expand network capacity, lower operating costs, reduce energy consumption and increase connectivity by deploying a mesh of multi-frequency, multi-standard low power communications devices which can be mounted on buildings, poles or wherever there is power and a broadband connection.

The LPRS ARW-2400-2700-10 antenna has a frequency range of 2400 – 2700MHz, has an operating temperature range of -40 - +60ºC, measures 140x120x20mm and weighs just 600gm.

Short-range radio device specialist, Low Power Radio Solutions (LPRS), has introduced the latest generation of its market-leading low-power wireless modules, easyRadio Advanced (eRA). The newcomer continues to offer simple-to-use, out-of-the-box wireless communication as previous versions, but with a number of new, innovative, features while still offering back compatibility with earlier easyRadio modules if required.

Key new features of eRA include the ability for users to change the bandwidth of the radio from 150KHz down to 12.5KHz, providing narrow-band performance at a wide-band budget. Internal temperature measurement of the wireless modules ensures less than 1.5KHz frequency drift from ambient 20C over a range of -40C to +85C. This new feature may also be used as a thermometer to measure the temperature of the end user equipment, accurate to within 1C.

Modes of data transmission include the proven easyRadio protocol with 16-bit encryption and anti cross talk software (DCS) and a new raw data mode that allows customers more flexibility to use their own coding system on any frequency they choose, enabling direct compatibility with other ISM raw data modules from any manufacturer. With the addition of three more (total 4) separate data buffers, easy-Radio performance and data throughput has been greatly improved by up to 25% when compared to 02 versions.

Other new features of LPRS’s eRA include digital RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indication), accurate internal level measurement of signal strength removing the requirement for the host system to handle A-D measurement. A simple command for either the current RSSI level or the signal strength of the last received data packet is used. Temporary channel selection is another new command allowing the user scan other channels if required without storing the settings in the internal EEPROM, maximising its life.

easyRadio Advanced features a crystal controlled synthesiser for frequency accuracy < +/- 1KHz over full temperature range, a high sensitivity receiver (-117dB @ 12.5KHz Bandwidth), up to 10mW transmission power (at 434MHz) and user programmable frequency (up to 132 channels), bandwidth (down to 12.5KHz) and RS232 data rates up to 115200. easyRadio Advanced can be powered using a 3V lithium cell or a regulated supply up to 5VDC. Measuring just 38x14x4mm it has been tested to meet European radiated and conducted standards.

Allowing seamless integration into existing products wanting to take advantage of the new technology, eRA continues to use the same pin-out arrangement as before.

The new Model DCA-23 Seawater Dechlorination Analyzer from Electro-Chemical Devices (ECD) is a low maintenance measurement solution that requires no chemicals to monitor seawater chlorine levels accurately in a wide range of industrial process and municipal water treatment applications.

Seawater has multiple process industry uses, including heat exchange systems at LNG terminals, oil/gas refineries, electric power plants and SWAC systems (salt water air conditioning) in commercial buildings. Seawater desalination plants also chlorinate and dechlorinate the water before processing. The chlorination of seawater inhibits the growth of marine life on the various filters, screens and heat exchanger surfaces, but the seawater must be dechlorinated for environmental reasons before it is discharged back into the original water supply.

The DCA-23 is a single-purpose analyzer that monitors chlorine in seawater from 0.0 to 2.00 ppm. It features an economical, low-maintenance design that requires no chemicals. It measures the pH, temperature and Total Residual Oxidant (TRO) of seawater and converts them into an equivalent ppm chlorine value, which is displayed to conform with existing conventions. It features a minimum detection limit (MDL) of 0.014 ppm and a limit of quantification (LOQ) of 0.044 ppm, making the DCA-23 Analyzer suitable for monitoring in environments with the most stringent dechlorination regulations.

The DCA-23 features three sensors, pH, TRO and temperature. The pH sensor measures from 0-14 pH, the TRO sensor measures from 1500 mV and the temperature sensor measures from 0-100C. The DCA-23 with its tri-parameter monitoring, is the ideal seawater chlorine analyzer for a wide range of applications.
During the re-gasification process at LNG terminals, large quantities of chlorine-treated seawater are used to heat the LNG heat exchangers. Seawater gradually raises the temperature of cold liquid natural gas changing it from a compressed fluid into a gas for distribution through the service pipelines. Recycling the seawater requires dechlorination monitoring with the DCA-23.

Steam-driven turbines at electric power plants generate much of the world's electricity. Seawater cooling is employed at both thermal and nuclear power plants in coastal regions. The seawater flows over heat exchangers and condenses the steam used to drive the turbines. The cooling is accomplished with chlorinated seawater, which requires monitoring with the DCA-23 before discharge. Similar heat exchange processes are utilized by oil/gas refineries.

In water desalination plants, seawater is treated by reverse osmosis (RO) to remove the salt. The intake seawater is treated with chlorine to kill algae and other organisms prior to the reverse osmosis process. The RO membranes are degraded by chlorine so the chlorinated seawater must be dechlorinated before contacting the membranes. The DCA-23 is ideal for monitoring the dechlorination process.

The modular S10 Ion Selective Electrode (ISE), Compressor and Analyzer System from Electro-Chemical Devices (ECD) features the AC10 Air Blast Spray Cleaner designed for sensor self-cleaning and the highly intelligent multi-channel C22 Smart Controller. This flexible system allows process and plant engineers to maintain accurate measurement of multiple common parameters, reduces maintenance cycles and extends sensor life to decrease technician time and reduce plant operating costs.

ECD's S10 Immersion/Insertion Style Sensor is a rugged, fully re-buildable sensor featuring a 316 stainless steel body with a sensing element, a temperature module and a signal conditioner for the process variable. Ion specific cartridges are available for the measurement of Ammonium, Bromide, Chloride, Cyanide, Fluoride, Sulfide, Calcium, Potassium and Sodium ions. The S10 Sensor with ISE cartridges is ideal for a wide range of fluid analysis applications required in industrial and municipal water treatment applications. In addition to specific ions, the S10 Sensor can also be configured for the measurement of pH, ORP, DO and Conductivity/Resistivity.

The AC10 is an Air Blast Spray Cleaner for Sensors that is available as either a single or dual channel system for use with the S10 and other ECD Sensor designs. It helps maintain sensor measurement accuracy in turbid water conditions by preventing the buildup of biofilms and other soft coatings, decreasing sensor maintenance cycles and helping to cut plant operating costs.

The AC10 Air Blast Spray Cleaner reduces sensor cleaning time and the amount of chemicals used for unnecessary water treatments performed due to inaccurate sensor readings caused by films and coatings that develop over time on the sensors. The AC10, when combined with a C22 Smart Controller and an S10 spray cleaning head uses pressurized air to generate an area of high turbulence in the water surrounding the measurement end of the sensor.

Offering a highly reliable, high current contactor that assures years of trouble free service, the AC10 Air Blast Spray Cleaner is available with either a 115 VAC 3.0 Amp or 220 VAC 1.3 Amp Air Compressor. It is housed in a rugged, corrosion resistant, fiberglass reinforced polyester enclosure. Installation options for the AC10 include wall mounting or an optional 2-inch handrail mounting system.

The multi-channel C22 Smart Controller provides simplicity in a powerful package, allowing for incredible flexibility in the selection of inputs and outputs. It features Multi-Bus Architecture that allows up to four sensor inputs, six outputs and eight relays to be configured into the C22 Controller.

The C22 Smart Controller uses its internal timers and relays to control the period and duration of the AC10 Spray Cleaner's cleaning cycles. The period between cleaning cycles and the cleaning duration are easily adjustable in the C22's setup menu.

The easy-to-use and economical CA-6 Online Analyzer from Electro-Chemical Devices uses colorimetric analyses to accurately and reliably measure phosphate and total phosphate levels. The CA-6 Analyzer is available in models measuring phosphate at 0-5.0 mg/L, 0-50.0 mg/L or 0-200 mg/L and total phosphate at 0-2.0 mg/L, 0-20.0 mg/L or 0-100 mg/L. Phosphate and total phosphate levels are important indicators of water quality. Sources of phosphates include sewage, industrial waste and fertilizers. Excessive phosphates can lead to extensive algae growth called "blooms" which can have serious ecological consequences.

The CA-6 precision online sequential sampling analyzer is lightweight and easy to install. Weighing less than 40 pounds, it can be wall mounted or simply set on a bench using the optional Bench Top Stand. After the sample, waste and reagent lines have been connected to the analyzer and provided with power, the CA-6 will begin its preprogrammed analysis sequence. The CA-6 is available with up to 4 channels (optional) each from a separate sample point. A simple, user-friendly menu structure and touchscreen interface makes it easy to access information or customize analyses.

The CA-6 utilizes photometric differential absorbance to analyze over 20 other common parameters in addition to phosphate including: aluminum, silica, nitrogen, iron and sulfate. It operates at a wide temperature range of 5-50°C and offers repeatability of ±2% on the absorbance value if the turbidity <80 NTU and drift of ±2% per month on the absorbance measurement.

The highly accurate CA-6 Analyzer improves ISE measurements requiring significant sample conditioning for measurement accuracy, reducing the volume of conditioning chemicals required and minimizing the associated waste. With the CA-6, the result is a faster, accurate measurement requiring fewer consumables with less waste to reduce overall operating costs -- saving labor and money.

The CA-6 Analyzer's easy-to-use touch-screen display shows the measured parameter, analyzer status, percent reagent volumes, time and the menu bar, which provides access to the Run, Display, Program, Service and Help menus. It includes two alarm relay outputs and a 4-20 mA channel that connects with PLC's or distributed control systems.

The rugged and reliable CA-6 features two separate compartments to isolate liquids and electronics and is enclosed in an epoxy powder coated, cold rolled steel cabinet. The liquids enclosure houses all the components necessary for sampling and reagent flow, mixing and reaction stages (sampling pump, reagent micro-pumps and colorimetric reaction cell). Dassault Systèmes has announced the availability of Release 2012 of its Enovia Version 6 platform, which the company claims broadens the value of digital assets into applications such as immersive retail store experiences and global production system planning.

Release 2012 also introduces new interoperability features, based on XML schema and Web services, between Version 6 and other PDM systems, offering bi-directional exchanges of 3D design product structures with exact geometry in STEP and CATIA V5 formats. New levels of integration between Version 6 and ERP solutions are also available in Release 2012, enhancing the exchange of product, process and resource data.

Additionally, CATIA V6R2012 is said to introduce multiple advances in systems engineering, the multidisciplinary design methodology that integrates requirements, functional, logical and physical (RFLP) product definition.

Dassault Systemes has partnered with Sculpteo, a 3D printing web service, to enable the 260,000 members of its 3Dvia online community to order 3D-printed versions of its digital 3Dvia-hosted models over the internet. This partnership will allow users to click the ‘Send to Sculpteo 3D Print’ button on their own 3Dvia model’s view page, specify the size they wish to print and choose a white, black or full-colour print option.

The final printed model is delivered directly to the user. 3Dvia is an open platform that accepts most 3D files, including CAD, OBJ, DAE, 3DXML, STEP and IGES, and is claimed to enable community members to print almost any creation through a very simple process.

Automated Packaging Systems, the world leader in high-reliability bag packaging systems, is expanding its operations in Streetsboro, Ohio by acquiring two commercial buildings. The larger building is 173,000 square feet of combined manufacturing, office and warehouse space located on 32 acres at 600 Mondial Parkway, just three miles from the company’s corporate headquarters on Philipp Parkway. This building was originally constructed in 1995 and will be used to support future expansion plans for multiple product lines, including manufacturing of bag packaging systems and bag materials.

The other recent acquisition is a 33,000 square foot building located at 10320 Philipp Parkway, right down the road from Automated Packaging’s corporate headquarters. This facility will become the company’s Customer Support Center for operations that include customer service, technical support, parts sales, factory repair and technical training. This building, which is just six years old, offers flexible workspace with a functional mix of office, manufacturing and warehouse space in a contemporary style similar to corporate headquarters.

“These two building acquisitions provide us with the flexibility we need to meet the growth we are experiencing in our global businesses,” explains Cliff Brehm, President and COO. “Our current manufacturing facilities are at maximum capacity and we plan to begin phasing into these two new buildings over the next several months. The city of Streetsboro, the Portage County Department of Development, and the State of Ohio have been extremely supportive in helping us to expand our business in this community and we plan to be here for a long time,” added Brehm.

Automated Packaging Systems obtained a 45% Job Creation Tax Credit from the State of Ohio for seven years with a commitment to operate the new acquisition on Mondial Parkway for at least 10 years. The company has committed to creating 85 new jobs in the first three years and plans to have 200 to 250 new jobs there in 10 years. Automated Packaging now has three manufacturing and office buildings in Streetsboro, and a total of nine manufacturing plants worldwide.

AVX has expanded its HQ series MLC surface-mount RF power capacitors to include P90 dielectric versions, which are suitable for high-power, high-frequency applications, such as medical and industrial electronics.

Featuring an ultra-low equivalent series resistance (ESR) and dissipation factor at high frequencies, the HQ series power capacitors are also able to handle the high power and high voltage levels of RF power amplifiers, inductive heating and high magnetic field environments (MRI coils).

AVX Corporation, a leading manufacturer of passive components and interconnect solutions, has expanded its inter-digitated capacitor (IDC) product line to include ultra-miniature, RoHS-compliant versions. Providing low ESL values of 35pH in a small footprint, the IDC Series is ideal for advanced decoupling applications including CPU, GPU, ASIC and ASSP. Low ESL IDCs free up valuable board space by reducing the number of capacitors required versus standard MLCCs. In addition, IDCs reduce in the number of capacitors required in a design, thus lowering placement costs.

The key physical characteristic to determining the equivalent series inductance (ESL) of a capacitor is the size of the current loop it creates. The smaller the current loop, the lower the ESL. The IDC architecture shrinks the distance between terminations to minimize the current loop size, further reducing inductance by creating adjacent opposing current loops.

“The equivalent series inductance (ESL) of a single capacitor or an array of capacitors in parallel determines the response time of a power delivery network (PDN). The lower the ESL of a PDN, the faster the response time. A designer can use many standard MLCCs in parallel to reduce ESL or a single low ESL inter-digitated capacitor device,” said Tim Piver. Featuring a footprint of 1.6mm x 0.80mm, the IDC Series is available in Pb-free and SN/Pb terminations for military applications.

AVX Corporation, a leading manufacturer of passive components and interconnect solutions, has expanded its automotive product portfolio to include a compact radial leaded, high temperature varistor solution. VITRONIC Machine Vision Limited announced that it was awarded a multi-million dollar contract by The United States Postal Service (USPS) for over 175 package sorter overhead camera (PSOC) system kits for use in mail processing facilities to support the Automated Parcel Bundle Sorter Program.

Under terms of the agreement, VITRONIC will supply the USPS with over 350 VICAMssi2 linear camera systems and custom mounting frames for use on a fleet of mail sorting equipment. This scanning solution will capture USPS tracking barcode data as mail is processed in the Postal Distribution Network. The VICAMssi2 is an advanced parcel information acquisition and analysis system designed for applications in the high-speed parcel, post, and material handling industries.

Saelig announces the availability of the C429-RS232 - a highly integrated, compact serial and encoded video camera module which can be attached to any host system requiring an economical video or still camera for embedded imaging applications. The module uses an OmniVision™ CMOS MT9V011 VGA color sensor, matched with a versatile Vimicro VC0706 control chip to provide a complete low cost, low power camera system. The C429-RS232 has an on-board RS232 serial interface for direct connection to any host PC system with a COMport for control or image communication. OMICRON, a leader in power system protection testing, now offers a new protection test set dedicated to IEC 61850. The new CMC 850 focuses on the real-time communication methods of GOOSE and Sampled Values to interface with test objects. The new test set is very small and lightweight since there is no need for conventional binary inputs/outputs or amplifiers for the secondary signals. Despite its small size it provides two Ethernet interfaces allowing the safe separation of data traffic from different network segments and the segregation of substation protocol data and test set control commands.

Like other CMC test sets, the CMC 850 is controlled by OMICRON’s proven Test Universe software. The new device also offers embedded functions, such as the visualization of received Sampled Values and the calculation of synchrophasors. The CMC 850 can generate up to three Sampled Values streams. Up to 360 inputs and outputs are available for the simulation and subscription of GOOSE messages. OMICRON, a leader in power system protection testing, now offers a new measurement and testing tool for engineers and IED developers. The new SVScout software subscribes to the Sampled Values streams from merging units and displays the waveforms of the primary voltages and currents in an oscilloscope view. Cursor functions allow the user to compare individual values on the traces. RMS values and phase angles calculated from the Sampled Values are displayed in a phasor diagram and a table. The CT Analyzer provides fast and cost-effective testing and verification of current transfor-mers for protection and metering applications. It automatically determines all relevant current transformer values and compares the results with the selected IEC or IEEE standard. The latest measurement function of the CT Analyzer - the RemAlyzer - allows current trans-formers to be tested for residual magnetism. Residual magnetism can occur when current transformers are confronted with very high AC currents or DC offset during fault conditions. Core saturation effects caused by residual magnetism may lead to incorrect operation of the protection relays.

The CT Analyzer can be extended by the CT SB2 switch box, enabling testing of current transformers with multiple taps, without the need for rewiring. The CT SB2 is a standalone unit, which can be attached to the CT Analyzer. It provides simple, color-coded, six-channel connection possibilities, guaranteeing convenient wiring and avoiding time-consuming and error-prone reconnection. The OMICRON Protection Testing Library (PTL) is a comprehensive library providing test templates for a varied and significant number of protection devices. Specifically tailored for CMC test sets, the templates contain test plans which include the important protection functions as well as XRIO converters for modeling the relays in the Test Universe software. Using the PTL saves valuable time because there is no longer a need to create test plans and nominal characteristics from scratch.

BOGE America, Inc. has just launched the BOGE SR Booster series of oil lubricated piston compressors which provide a flexible, cost effective and energy efficient solution for generating up to 600 psi at point of use. The BOGE Booster takes pre-compressed and already treated compressed air from an existing network or a standard pressure compressor and boosts it to the desired higher pressure. This system is ideal where high pressures are required at specific points within a compressed air network or in the blow moulding industry for PET.

By only increasing the pressure at point of use within a compressed air network energy and capital equipment costs are kept to a minimum making the BOGE Booster both a cost effective and energy efficient solution for creating higher pressures. Boge has announced that all of its screw compressors and the majority of its piston compressors are now equipped with energy-efficient IE 3 electrical motors as standard. The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) recently introduced the EN IEC 60034-30 standard to harmonise international motor efficiencies.

According to Boge, this standard divides motors into three efficiency classes — IE 1, IE 2 and IE 3 — and regulates the various energy standards for electrical motors. From June 2011, all new motors within the EU must at least meet the efficiency requirements of class IE 2, and from 2015 it will be mandatory that all new compressors are equipped with IE 3 motors.

BOGE America Inc., has just launched the stand alone BOGE DUOTHERM heat recovery system. This compact module is the ideal solution for compressed air users wanting to optimize the energy usage of their existing compressed air system through heat recovery. The external BOGE DUOTHERM heat recovery system can recover up to 94% of the input energy used in compression in the form of heat.
The waste heat generated by the compressor can then be re-directed into heating spaces, such as workshops, to pre-heating water used in an industrial process. In doing so, the user can reduce their associated energy costs and optimize their energy usage.

The new DUOTHERM module is compact, requiring only a minimum space requirement. It connects into the oil circuit of the compressor with no external energy required for operation. Thanks to this innovative technology, it is now possible to preserve the internal varistor from any leakage current that could cause damage and aging when the nominal DC voltage of the plant is temporarily exceeded (e.g. in the case of wrong connections and during the morning when solar panels are cold). Deliveries of the AKM Synchronous servomotors from Kollmorgen are now down to only four weeks lead time due to capacity being increased by one third. In spite of considerable growth of the AKM range, the factory has reduced its lead times and thus is able to help its customers to realise additional competitive benefits. Delta Tau has introduced its latest low cost CNC and general purpose controller that enables simpler and inexpensive operation of all sorts of machines from metal cutting tools to lasers, flatbed cutters and Cartesian robots. The control provides motion control, operator interface, PLCs, standard interfaces and software in a single unit.

Called the Advantage 500, this system can handle four or eight axes and has at its heart Delta Tau's powerful Turbo PMAC Clipper which gives motion controllers stability, flexibility, accuracy and speed. These features coupled with the use of the Turbo PMAC CPU embedded computer, delivers a controller that has many high level features within an otherwise simple system. Unlike PC based solutions the Advantage 500 solves all of the wiring headaches of getting cabling in and out of the motion controller. Furthermore the controller comes with a broad array of hardware interfaces as standard so that just about anything can be simply plugged into the unit.

This means requirements such as lead screw and planar compensation; backlash compensation; fast position capture; rapid position comparison; master/slave capabilities; and the ability to handle 40MHz and auxiliary handwheel encoders; these are just a few of the features available that will greatly appeal to machine builders and end users. The set up is simple and could not be easier to operate. There are interactive input screens, which include axis characteristics, axis I/O, axis reference methodology as well as general axis and CNC options.

The Advantage 500 can be supplied with either CNC machine tool software or with DNC software or custom HMI's designed using or C++ embedded for any type of flatbed machine. The CNC interface uses the familiar RS274 G-code library, but also offers the PMAC-style structured text entry and a DNC interface for external program download. Most usefully the controller's CNC software has full G, M and T code compatibility for milling, turning and grinding.

The designers at Delta Tau's have implemented their soft PLC, which allows the Advantage 500 to be programmed using American Ladder Logic or Sequential Function Chart since the software is IEC1131/3 compliant. Programming can also be performed remotely for subsequent download. The user-friendly programming is emulated at the controller itself, but while allowing the changing of variable values for maintenance purposes, the programs cannot be overwritten at the machine. This is clearly an important safety and security feature.

For extended temperature range operation, models can be ordered with a frame for use in a conduction-cooled chassis. The standard model operates reliably over a 0 to 70°C range in an air-cooled or forced convection system. The conduction-cooled version supports a range of -40 to 85°C. And for system compatibility, Acromag’s 3U VPX cards support a number of VITA 65 slot profiles and conform to VPX VITA 46.0, 46.4 and 46.9 specifications.

The latest release in Acromag’s new ST130 series of low-cost, temperature transmitters is the Model ST133, an isolated thermocouple/millivolt signal conditioner. This high-performance version of the economy-level ST132 also converts sensor input signals from eight thermocouple types or a ±100mV range and outputs a proportional 4-20mA process control signal. “With the new ST133 thermocouple transmitter we can now offer a choice of isolated or non-isolated units to better meet a customer’s price/performance requirements,” says Don Lupo, Acromag’s sales and marketing director. Many end-user and OEM applications still require high isolation to combat and reject the effects of large common mode voltages, electrical noise, surges, and system ground loops. The ST133 bridges the gap between economy units and more expensive high-performance isolated transmitters.

Other features include signal linearization and cold-junction compensation functions. Response times are as low as 30ms. The Windows software helps you quickly configure the transmitter using a USB cable connection to select input type with standard or reverse-acting output, scale I/O ranges, set filtering levels, and choose upscale or downscale operation for sensor faults. An Asian manufacturer of fine wire has used viscometers from Cambridge Viscosity to control the coating on wire that measures 30-300 micron in diameter.

By controlling the coating viscosity in-process, the wire manufacturer is able to control the uniformity of the insulation on the wire, which is used in electric motors, transformers and electric coils in appliances, cars and other powered devices.
