VCO Offers Ultra-Low Phase Noise Performance

Z-Communications has launched the CRO3450B-LF, a new RoHS-compliant voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) in S-band. The CRO3450B-LF operates at 3,449-3,451MHz with a tuning voltage range of 0.5-4.5VDC. This VCO features a typical phase noise of -112dBc/Hz at 10KHz offset and a typical tuning sensitivity of 8MHz/V. The CRO3450B-LF is designed to deliver a typical output power of 4.5dBm at 5VDC supply while drawing 20mA (typical) over the temperature range of -40C to +85C.

This VCO features typical second harmonic suppression of -20dBc and comes in Z-Communications' standard Mini-16-SM package measuring 0.5 x 0.5 x 0.22in. It is available in tape and reel packaging for production requirements. The CRO3450B-LF is also ideal for automated surface-mount assembly and reflow. CRO3450B-LF is well suited for fixed wireless applications that require ultra-low phase noise performance.
