Amphenol Industrial Products Group introduces a connection system family with 1.5 mm socket contacts featuring Amphenol’s exclusive RADSOK contact system. The new Tru-Loc connector series is designed to perform in demanding environments, such as under valve covers on diesel engines and in high-vibration sensor applications.

Tru-Loc features a molded thermoplastic main plug body with secondary latch and a fluoroelastomer main joint seal that is resistant to many fluids, including diesel fuel.

The Analog Devices HMC753LP4E is a GaAs MMIC low-noise wideband amplifier housed in a leadless 4 x 4 mm plastic surface-mount package. TE Connectivity Measurement Specialties’ MS5837-30BA is the next generation of high-resolution pressure sensors with I2C bus interface for depth measurement systems with a water depth resolution of 2.0 mm. The sensor module includes a high linearity pressure sensor and an ultra-low power 24-bit ΔΣ ADC with internal factory calibrated coefficients. It provides a precise digital 24-bit pressure, temperature value, and different operation modes that allow the user to optimize for conversion speed and current consumption. A high-resolution temperature output allows the implementation in depth measurement systems and thermometer function without any additional sensor. The MS5837-30BA can be interfaced to virtually any microcontroller. The communication protocol is simple, without the need of programming internal registers in the device. The gel protection and antimagnetic stainless steel cap make the module water resistant. This sensor module generation is based on leading MEMS technology and the latest benefits from Measurement Specialties proven experience and know-how in high volume manufacturing, which has been widely used for over a decade.

Every MS5837-30BA module is individually factory calibrated at two temperatures and two pressures. As a result, six coefficients necessary to compensate for process variations and temperature variations are calculated and stored in the 112-bit PROM of each module. These bits (partitioned into six coefficients W1 to W6) must be read by the microcontroller software and used in the program converting D1 and D2 into compensated pressure and temperature values. The coefficients W0 is for factory configuration and CRC.

The external microcontroller clocks in the data through the input serial clock (SCL) and serial data (SDA). The sensor responds on the same pin SDA, which is bidirectional for the I2C bus interface, so this interface type uses only two signal lines and does not require a chip select.

The MS5837-30BA consists of a piezo-resistive sensor and a sensor interface IC. The main function of the MS5837-30BA is to convert the uncompensated analog output voltage from the piezo-resistive pressure sensor to a 24-bit digital value, as well as providing a 24-bit digital value for the temperature of the sensor.

Critical for revenue collection, leak detection, and conservation of critical natural resources, flow meters lie at the heart of utility and industrial distribution systems of water, gas, and heat. Mechanical flow meters, currently the most prevalent meter style, use moving parts to measure the velocity of a fluid in a pipe. These moving parts are subject to wear and lose accuracy over time, often requiring replacement within 10 years. The MAXREFDES70# ultrasonic time-of-flight flow (TOF) meter by Maxim Integrated sends and receives ultrasound waves between piezoelectric transducers in both the upstream and downstream directions in the pipe. By measuring the TOF difference between the upstream and downstream wave travels, utilizing sophisticated digital signal processing techniques, a very accurate flow rate can be calculated.

The MAX35101 is the center of the heat/flow meter system. The MAX35101 integrates all the functions required for automatic TOF measurements, including the ultrasound pulse launching and detecting, TOF calculation, temperature measurement, and a real-time clock (RTC). The MAX35101 can work in various configurable automatic event-timing modes, requiring very minimal interactivity from a host microcontroller, thus reducing the total power consumption of the system.

The PLW 16 series, panel feed-through terminal blocks are the first in Phoenix Contact's extensive panel feed-through product line to offer spring termination on both sides of the panel. The wire termination on the inside features a tool-free, push-in spring connection. On the outside of the panel, the PLW 16 features the innovative push-lever spring connection.

Solid, stranded, or ferruled wire can be terminated by placing it in the terminal block and closing the lever. TDK Corporation announces the introduction of TDK-Lambda's CUS350M medical and ITE certified 350 W power supplies. Requiring no external airflow, the series is suitable for hospital, clinical, dental, and home-based medical applications, as well as professional broadcast, test, measurement, and audio equipment where low-audible noise is demanded.

Carrying a three-year warranty, the CUS350M series is currently available with 12 V, 18 V, 24 V, or 48 V outputs with a user adjustment of ±5% to accommodate non-standard voltages. The series can reliably provide up to 350 W output power (convection cooled) at 40°C ambient, and 175 W at 70°C. With efficiencies of up to 94%, an average rating of 87%, and a standby power consumption of less than 0.5 W, the units comply with the European ErP directive.

The ON Semiconductor MatrixCam video development kit (VDK) is a smart, low-power, 1080P camera solution that streams video over Wi-Fi and Ethernet. It has been developed specifically to encourage greater video adoption for IoT products, enabling faster time-to-market for IoT developers. Among its key applications are home automation systems, building access devices, baby monitors, advanced lighting controls, and smart appliances.

The MatrixCam VDK offers smart streaming capability, with wake-up initiated by Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) or through the motion-detecting integrated PIR sensor. Upon wake-up, it sends a push notification to an assigned mobile device (such as a smartphone or tablet) alerting the user that a live stream or a still image is available for viewing. It supports the microSD card slot, and can connect to cloud services such as Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud Platform, with support for both video-on-demand and live streaming. The VDK can be configured via a simple web-based GUI, or using a dedicated mobile application.

TURCK has added a variant with a CANopen interface to its QR24 rotary inductive sensor series. The new wear-free QR24-CAN variant is ideally equipped for use in mobile machines and industrial applications. Fast response times as well as a cyclical and event-driven communication are only two of the many benefits of the CANopen protocol, which is frequently used in the Mobile Equipment industry. These applications include crane and lifting technology, transport systems, construction machinery and also special machine building.

All QR24 sensors use resistance inductive capacitance (RLC) measuring technology to process and communicate position. Each sensor is manufactured with printed emitter and receiver coil systems fully potted within the housing. When the emitter coils are activated with a high-frequency AC field, they produce an inductive RLC circuit with the positioning element. The position of that element is processed based on the induced signal to the receiver coils in the sensors.

Thanks to its intelligent mounting concept using adapter rings, the permanently sealed IP69K sensors can be fitted on all standard shafts with diameters up to 20 millimeters. TURCK also offers the QR24 with an SSI interface, incremental output and analog voltage/current output.

SparkFun’s Cerberus is a three-headed cable that will ensure that the user is never stuck looking for a USB cable that fits their device or hardware development board. At one end of the Cerberus has the standard A-type connector, which can plug into a computer or USB power supply; at the other end are three common USB connectors: B, mini-B, and micro-B.

The Cerberus can transfer both power and data just like any USB cable and comes standard with an integrated USB hub so the user will be able to connect up to three data devices at the same time.
