MacDermid To Exhibit Screen-Printing Technology

MacDermid Autotype will exhibit screen-making products and digital and industrial substrates at Fespa 2010, which is due to take place at Messe Munich in Germany on 22-26 June. Exhibiting in conjunction with the European Specialist Printing Manufacturers Association (ESMA), the company's focus will be on helping screen-printing and design companies maximise consistency and improve quality while minimising environmental impact. MacDermid Autotype's screen-making product range includes Five Star, Capillex and Plus emulsions.

The company's CPS Division has developed ecological screen-cleaning chemicals, which will also be shown at Fespa 2010. These include hazard label-free solvents, low- and non-caustic haze removers and concentrated liquid stencil removers and degreasers. CPS chemicals allow users to achieve optimum cleaning standards while using less chemicals, meaning that each litre of product cleans more screens and lasts longer than other products. Service life is extended further as the chemicals can be recycled and reused.

The CPS range of products has been designed to combine good performance with environmental responsibility, making them a safer alternative to traditional chemicals used for mesh preparation, ink removal and stencil reclamation. MacDermid Autotype provides digital and industrial films, including its hard-coated polyester films for producing membrane keyboards, keypads and fascia panels.

Featured in this range is Autotex Steel, a new film that allows designers to produce stainless-steel effects from a thin, flexible and formable film, combining good colour reproduction and definition with a tough outer surface that also offers resistance to a range of chemicals and solvents. The company will also feature its antimicrobial film, which has been developed for the production of displays, fascia, graphic panels and other applications requiring high levels of clarity, durability and scratch and chemical resistance. The films feature inbuilt Microban anti-microbial protection, which is designed to inhibit the growth of bacteria, mould and fungi.
