Autodesk Inventor 2011 Supports 3Dconnexion Mice
3Dconnexion's range of 3D mice is now supported by Autodesk Inventor 2011 software, giving design engineers more control over 3D models and the overall digital prototyping process. 3Dconnexion 3D mice complement the design capabilities and specialised tools offered in the latest Inventor software suite. Conceptual design, engineering and manufacturing professionals working in Inventor 2011 can navigate designs with a 3Dconnexion mouse, allowing them to validate the form, fit and function of a design before it is built, as if they were holding the digital model in their hand.
This added control helps professionals accelerate design times and identify potential design flaws with greater ease. 3Dconnexion said that its 3D mice offer product development teams a range of design performance and productivity benefits for 3D mechanical design, product simulation, tooling creation and design communication, including: improved control and navigation allows users to simultaneously pan, zoom and rotate models or simulations without stopping to select commands; greater productivity with customisable programmable buttons that provide quick access to common commands; advanced design performance by aiding in the detection of design flaws and enhancing design review, verification and presentation; and increased comfort with traditional mouse clicks reduced by up to 50 per cent.
The entire 3Dconnexion product line is compatible with these applications, including the Professional Series with the Spacepilot Pro and Spaceexplorer, and the Standard Series with the Spacenavigator and Spacenavigator for Notebooks.
