Portwell Appliance Supports Freescale Processor

Portwell's CAK-2000 1U rackmount network appliance supports the latest Freescale QorIQ P2020 communications processor. Incorporating the 45nm Freescale processor based on Power Architecture core with SOI technology low-power platform, Portwell's CAK-2000 network appliance delivers high single-thread performance per watt and dual-core frequency up to 1.2GHz. Optional Freescale Vortiqa software also forms a part of the package and is designed to help users simplify migration to the expanding range of multi-core processor applications.

Integrated security engine support protocols includes SNOW, ARC4, 3DES, AES, RSA/ECC, RNG, single-pass SSL/TLS and Kasumi. Portwell's CAK-2000 1U rackmount network appliance also features: six LAN ports for 10/100/100 Ethernet; built-in two bypass/failover segments; up to 4GB DDR3 RAM with two DIMM sockets; bootable with SATA HDD via Linux operating system or SD Flash; onboard RJ45 console port; one Mini-PCIe slot; LEDs at front panel to show power, bypass and system status; software-controlled reset switch; drivers for controlling the reset switch and status LED; and an internal 150W ATX power supply.

CAK-2000 is regulatory-certification-ready and FCC/CE and UL-and RoHS/WEEE-compliant, which means that it can be used domestically and internationally out of the box. Designed for OEM branding, the appliance is suitable for applications in network security (such as IDS/IPS, Firewall, IPSec, VPN, Deep Packet Inspection, Anti-Spam, Anti-Virus and UTM); network management (such as Routers, RAS Gateways, QoS, Server-Load Balance, Wireless Controller and Streaming); plus telecommunications, industrial and military applications.
