Kistler Highlights Contactless Torque Sensors

Kistler Instruments is to highlight its contactless torque sensors at the Mtec 2010 event, alongside its range of acceleration, force and pressure sensors and associated electronics and software. The contactless, low-maintenance torque sensors are said to cost no more than slip rings.

Using non-contact signal transmission eliminates wear, making the sensor robust and maintenance free, even in continuous use. The type 4520A is available with rated torque from 1-1,000Nm with accuracy class of 0.5 at speeds up to 10,000rev/min. Output is the standard +/- 10V plus a speed signal of 60 pulses/rev and remotely switchable 100 per cent test function.
