Wireless Remote Controller Enables Keyless Locking

Southco announces the release of the EA-R01 wireless RF remote controller, which can control access to multiple locked compartments from distances up to 100ft. Designed to work in harsh environments across a wide range of industrial and commercial applications, the EA-R01 features a water-resistant potted construction and two sequenced 30A output channels to minimise load on the battery, while operating multiple latch points. Additional features include a light/horn output, simple transmitter programming and labelled connections for clear system configuration.

The EA-R01 allows customers to integrate remote locking and unlocking and eliminates the need for manual confirmation of individual secured compartments. The solution supports multiple electronic locks and up to four transmitters. Transmitters can be added or deleted with a pushbutton learn feature designed into the receiver. The EA-R01 receiver is water resistant and dustproof to an IP67 rating.

It is able to withstand vibration and temperature variations between -29C to +82C. The design of the receiver offers easy installation as well as discreet location when required. It also features replaceable fuses at each labelled circuit, allowing for straightforward maintenance. The transmitter is customisable for colour, style and design.

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays.
