Reduce Sensor Inventory with the PNP to NPN Converter Cordset

Reduce the number of sensors in inventory and easily convert a sensor’s PNP switching output to an NPN output with the ifm Converter Cordset. The Converter Cordset is designed for sensors with industry standard M12, 3-pin connectors.

Unlike traditional converter cables that require additional wiring and connection points, ifm’s Converter Cordset has the technology built right into the cordset housing at the point of contact.

The Converter Cordset is part of ifm’s reliable ecolink cordset family. All ecolink-style cordsets feature a “lock-in-place” coupling nut that prevents the cordset from detaching – even in high shock and vibration environments.

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved.
