Advantech Releases AMD G-Series Based Embedded Computing Boards
Advantech, the leading embedded platform and integration services provider, announces a new series of embedded boards based on the AMD G-series processor that integrates a new low-power CPU core and an advanced graphic core, and features low power and high-performance multimedia capability. Advantech’s new industrial motherboards, AIMB-223 and MIO-5270 (our first, and the industry’s first MI/O extension single board computer), take advantage of the AMD G-series processor by using low power while providing high-quality digital media solutions. They serve a wide range of applications that include: factory automation, digital signage, gaming, and medical applications.
Designed with an AMD Mobile G-Series dual/single core processor, AIMB-223 features intelligent performance, power efficiency, and integrated AMD HD Graphics with DX11 support. AIMB-223 comes with plenty of connectivity and expansion options, including: one PCIe x1 and one PCI expansion slot, six serial ports, four SATA III 6 GB/s connectors, eight USB 2.0 ports, and dual display output with several display output combinations from any two of VGA, HDMI, and LVDS. AIMB-223 also comes with software RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10 supports, offering abundant data storage and reliable data protection, and dual PCIe based Gigabit Ethernet ports delivering up to 1,000 Mbps of bandwidth for network-intense applications. In addition, AIMB-223 also includes both ATX 12V and 12V DC-input tolower custoemers’ overall system costs. All these features are packed into a space-saving, power-efficient, and cost-effective Mini-ITX form factor.
MIO-5270 was designed withthe innovative MI/O Extension single board computer form factor (146*102mm). In addition to having all the features of the AMD G-series processor, MIO-5270 has one unified MIOe connector which supports additional extended interfaces including a display port, four PCIe x1 slots, LPC, SMBus, USB, and power. These give MIO-5270 more flexible support to bundled I/O modules, either from Advantech or modules designed by the customer. MIO-5270 supports iManager technology, an OS independent system of self management that enhances system reliability. MIO-5270 also makes system integration easier; all heat generating parts are on top, and less cabling is required, making the system small and compact.
