Bel Power Solutions' Low Profile, Open Frame Series of AC-DC Power Supplies Target Wide Range of Industrial Applications

Announced today by Bel Fuse Inc. (NASDAQ:BELFA and NASDAQ:BELFB), a premier global manufacturer of power management devices, is the expansion of Bel Power Solutions'  open-frame, AC-DC power supply portfolio to include the low-profile ABC225 and ABC350 Series of power supplies for industrial applications. Specifically engineered for use in tight spaces, the high-efficiency units boast a less-than 1" (25 mm) low profile. The new series are comprised of either convection-cooled (no fans required) or forced-air versions to further maximize design flexibility and efficiencies. The ABC225 units deliver up to 225 Watts of output power with forced air-cooling or 112.5 Watts with convection cooling, whereas the ABC350 parts provide up to 350 Watts with forced air-cooling or 200 Watts with convection cooling.

With high power density and industry leading efficiency of greater than 94% at full load, the series are ideal for use in a broad array of space-constrained OEM, industrial, telecom and datacom applications in which minimal power loss, and easy thermal management are required. They are commonly specified for employment in lighting, IT equipment, test and measurement equipment, wireless communications, renewable energy, instrumentation, automation, broadcast and audio/video equipment, as well as HMI touch panels. Notably, the convection-cooled power supplies are suited for designs in which the elimination of fan maintenance, audible/ambient noise and vibration is necessary.

The power supplies accommodate the universal input voltage of 85-264 VAC or 390 VDC, 47-63 Hz. Units are provided standard with input overvoltage protection, over current protection, short circuit protection, and an isolated 12 V fan output. They are available in 6 output voltages ranging from 12 V to 58 V, and feature an operating temperature range of -40° to +70° C. ABC225 units feature a standard 2" x 4" industry-standard footprint, with a mean time between failures of (MTBF) 3.37 million hours. ABC350 units' industry-standard footprint is 3" x 5", and MTBF is 2.56 million hours. All parts are supplied with either a screw-terminal connection or Molex connector. A metal cover kit is optionally available.

RoHS compliant and CE Marked, the power supplies are safety agency certified per UL and NEMKO and meet the requirements of EN60950-1. They further meet the conducted and radiated EMI requirements of EN55022-B.

In quantities of 1,000, typical per-piece pricing for Bel Power Solutions' ABC225 Series of open-frame, AC-DC power supplies is $74.36; $99.32 for the ABC350 Series. Delivery is from stock to 12 weeks.
