New Wireless Thermo Recorder : log-EZ

The "log-EZ" is a user-friendly Thermo Recorder designed to easily measure and record the surrounding temperature and humidity. Easy operation with no need for troublesome settings enables the use in a wide range of applications in homes and office buildings. By using wireless communication it is possible to download the recorded data to a PC placed in remote locations. It is also handy for carrying out data management, such as monitoring and saving data, via PC.

  • Logging Capacity : 1,440 data sets (about 10 days of readings at 10-min. recording interval)
  • Display of current readings, continually changing graph, today's high and low readings on PC
  • Auto-Download at a set time of day
  • Wireless communication range (if unobstructed and direct): about 50 meters [160 ft].
  • Use the log-EZ as a Repeater to expand the communication range
  • Add new log-EZ units : Up to 16 units
  • About six months of operation with just one AA alkaline battery

FUSE SIZING CONSIDERATIONS FOR HIGHER EFFICIENCY MOTORS

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved. However, if sizing at this level prevents the motor from starting, it may then be necessary to increase the fuse ampere rating and it then becomes important to know the NEC sizing limitations.
