High Resolution Digital Floor Mounted Biaxial Tiltmeter

ETLG Inertial Aerosystems is introducing a high resolution digital, floor mounted biaxial tiltmeter manufactured by Applied Geomechanics. Designated the D711 it has NEMA 4X (IP65) accreditation allowing continuous exposure to moisture and inclement weather. This innovative tiltmeter is suitable for use in remote monitoring of minute movement in dams, structures large antennas and earthquake/volcanic zones.

3 models are available with full scale ranges of +/-.5º, +/- 5º degrees and a wide angle version of +/ 80º. The .5 degree model has a resolution of 1 microradian, and a repeatability of <4 microradian (static). Temperature range is -25 to 70º C (-10 to +100º C storage), with power requirements of 7 to 28 VDC at 27 mA and reverse polarity protection. Fully programmable with RS 232 and RS 485 output versions are available. The powerful firmware command set enables the user to control output data rates, data formats, sample averaging and other useful parameters. All are supplied with a graphical ZAGI user interface for windows computers.

This versatile tilt sensor maintains an absolute reference to gravity and unlike optical encoders does not need to be re initialised on start-up. The D711 bolts or clamps on to any surface and is well suited for areas of heavy traffic or vibration. The 12.7 mm holes in its three corners fit over the provided stainless steel studs.
Measuring 152 x 152 x 102 mm it weighs 1.4 kg. Each tiltmeter is provided with a 3 M hook-up cable and power supply for quick operation with a computer.
