Axiomtek's IEC 61850-3 and IEEE 1613 Compliant 16-port 10/100Base Managed Hardened Ethernet Switch with 2-port Combo Gigabit for Substation Automation- iCON-83000

Axiomtek today introduced iCON-83000 16-port 10/100Base managed hardened Ethernet switch with 2 combo Gigabit ports, which fully complies with IEC 61850-3 and IEEE 1613 standards for substation automation applications, NEMA TS1 & TS2 for traffic control systems and EN50121-4 for railway applications. The iCON-83000 is designed to integrate 10/100 Mbps networks into fiber optic Gigabit backbones. To provide non-stop Ethernet connection, the iCON-83000 supports intelligent α-Ring technology which provides fast network recovery within 15ms. This hardened industrial Ethernet switch features an IP30 protected housing with slim form factor (84 x 125 x 145 mm), a wide operating temperature range (-40°C to +75°C), DIN-rail or panel mounting capability, and redundant power inputs to give users greater flexibility for a variety of industrial automation applications.

“Axiomtek has introduced the iCON-83000, an IEC 61850-3 and IEEE 1613 compliant Ethernet switch for substation automation applications. The IEC 61850-3 and IEEE 1613 standards define the highest standard of EMI immunity and error free communication requirements for network equipment used in substations. Meeting these strict certifications proves iCON-83000 can against a variety of environmental factors. Up to sixteen 10/100Base-TX ports and two combo Gigabit ports can be chosen to make the construction of a reliable Ethernet network easy. Additionally, this intelligent item applies high quality components with advantages of wide operating temperature range and long MTBF to keep your industrial applications running non-stop. With Axiomtek’s iCON-83000 Ethernet switch, users can save on cabling and wiring costs and speedily transform existing devices into more powerful and intelligent,” said Ethan Wang, Product Manager of Product & Marketing Division at Axiomtek. It can be DIN-rail or panel mounted. Moreover, the rugged device comes equipped with a 12~48 VDC redundant power inputs via a terminal block or power jack, and is secured with power polarity reverse and an overload current resettable fuse.

The iCON-83000 hardened managed Ethernet switch supports advanced features such as IEEE 802.1Q VLAN, port trunking, IGMP snooping, rapid spanning tree, QoS IEEE802.1p/1Q, and port mirroring. Users may choose among SNMP/RMON, web browser, or telnet for remote monitoring and configuration. It also supports rate control, which allows users to set the maximum bandwidth on each port individually. Otherwise, the iCON-83000 switches offer IEEE802.1X port-based network access control for network security. In addition to RSTP/STP for Ethernet redundancy, the iCON-83000 series features redundant ring technology with a recovery time under 15ms. With Auto MDI/MDIX function supported, users can easily expand network without using special cabling, and the auto-negotiation capability allows users to connect client or other switches without any configuration. Besides, the iCON-83000 comes with full wire-speed forwarding rate.
