Michell To Show Tiny Portable Dew-Point Hygrometer

Michell Instruments will show its smallest and fastest portable dew-point hygrometer at the upcoming Mtec event. Measuring 21 x 17cm, weighing 1.5kg and offering a battery life of up to 48 hours' typical usage, the MDM300 hygrometer enables the user to take field moisture measurements. According to the company, which will be found on Stand 1340 at Mtec, the MDM300 has an ergonomic design, with all the buttons accessible while the instrument is held comfortably in both hands.

All measurement parameters are available at the touch of a button and the password-protected setup menu is said to be simple to navigate and use. Both the instrument setup and the downloading of logged data are possible, thanks to a Bluetooth connection that comes as standard. New developments in Michell's ceramic sensor technology have reduced the response time for low dew points, enabling more measurements to be taken each day.

To maximise flexibility, external sensors can be connected and used to measure and display pressure and temperature. These parameters can also be used to provide pressure- and temperature-compensated measurements, improving accuracy and allowing users to choose from a range of measurement parameters.
