Fixed-Frequency Synthesiser Operates At 1,609MHz

Z-Communications has introduced an RoHS-compliant fixed-frequency synthesiser model in L band. The SFS1609A-LF is a single-frequency synthesiser that operates at 1,609MHz. This synthesiser features a typical phase noise of -95dBc/Hz at 10kHz offset and typical sideband spurs of -70dBc. The SFS1609A-LF is designed to deliver a typical output power of 6dBm with a VCO voltage supply of 5VDC while drawing 35mA (typical) and a phase-locked-loop voltage of 3VDC and drawing 9mA (typical) over the temperature range of -40C to +8C.

The fixed-frequency synthesiser features typical second harmonic suppression of -15dBc and comes in the company's industry-standard PLL-V12N package measuring 0.60in x 0.60in x 0.13in (1.5 x 1.5 x 0.3cm). It is available in tape and reel packaging for production requirements. The SFS1609A-LF is also suitable for automated surface-mount assembly and reflow. It is said to be ideal for satellite communication and microwave radio applications that require low-phase-noise performance.
