HGV drivers are required by the DSA to complete 35 hours Certificate of Professional Competence training by September 2014, and 35 hours of periodic training every 5 years thereafter. Cleansing Service Group are now offering specialist CPC training courses to get your qualification underway.

Covering:

1. Conditions of holding licence.
2. 'O' licence requirements.

4. First user and walk around checks.

8. Enforcement agencies and their powers.


Module 2: Defensive and Fuel efficient driving

(3.5 hours classroom, 3.5 hours in vehicle training)

Covering:

1. Walk around checks and defect reporting.
2. Presentation and appearance of vehicle.
3. Impact of driving standards on environment and company image.
4. Safety of themselves, passengers and other road users.
5. Importance of physical and mental ability and health.
6. Understanding criminality and illegal trafficking.
7. Handling emergency situations
8. Customer service and its importance to a business.
9. Effective communication.

FUSE SIZING CONSIDERATIONS FOR HIGHER EFFICIENCY MOTORS

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved.
