Development of the "CV Series" 125V, Chip-type Conductive Polymer Aluminum Solid Electrolytic Capacitors with the Highest Rated Voltage in the Industry of 125V

Nichicon Corporation is responding to demands for higher withstand voltages and reliability in chip-type conductive polymer aluminum solid electrolytic capacitors, and we have developed the CV series 125V for application in industrial machinery and automobiles. The highest rated voltage of the CV series was 100V, but we have expanded the rated voltage to 125V, the highest in the industry.

The line-up will be on display at the CEATEC JAPAN 2012 exhibition to be held at Makuhari Messe from 2–6 October (Tues-Sat).

Since the aluminum solid electrolytic capacitor that uses conductive polymers has outstanding ESR* characteristics in the high frequency range, it is frequently used in computers, flat-screen TVs and other digital devices. In addition to its ESR characteristics, it has permissible ripple performance and great stability at a wide range of operating temperatures, allowing the pursuit of products with higher withstand voltages in the field of industrial machinery and automobiles. These are the market needs which this product can answer to.

By further optimizing the method of conductive high polymer formation, part composition and element design in this product, we achieved the highest rated voltage in the industry of 125V, surpassing the rated voltage announced last year of 100V. This will contribute to the miniaturization of set devices through further expansion of its applications and reduction of the parts count in circuit boards.
