Development of the "HW Series" of Low Impedance, Long Life Aluminum Capacitors

Nichicon Corporation has developed the HW series of radial leaded type, low impedance, long life aluminum capacitors perfectly suited to withstand high ripple current and long life demands of power sources. The line-up will be on show at the CEATEC JAPAN 2012 exhibition to be held at Makuhari Messe from 2–6 October (Tues-Sat).

As electronic appliances and AC adaptors are reduced in size, the manufacturers of these devices are making their warranties longer with each passing year. This trend is accelerating and energy efficiency is another keyword. Amid this market context, demand is on the rise for low impedance, long life aluminum capacitors for use as secondary power circuits.

To meet these market needs, Nichicon has developed the HW series line-up of radial lead type low impedance, long life aluminum capacitors.

Based on technology developed by Nichicon, this product applies a new electrolyte solution and assembles optimal components to achieve a long life guarantee of 10,000 hours, approximately 1.7 times longer than the current low impedance HV series product (guaranteeing 6,000 hours).

In addition, the HW series has a wider rated voltage range than the HV series, which is designed to suit diverse circuit voltages, and it will contribute to the better endurance of all kinds of power sources, especially batteries for electric appliances and AC adaptors.
