Vishay Intertechnology Introduces High-Precision Thin Film SMD Wraparound Chip Resistor Arrays With High Operating Temperatures to + 215 °C, Load-Life Stability of 0.7 %, and Tight TCR of 10 ppm/°C

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today introduced a new series of high-precision thin film SMD wraparound chip resistor arrays optimized for high-temperature down-hole and aeronautics applications. The new PRAHT four-resistor networks feature an operating temperature range from − 55 °C to + 215 °C with a maximum storage temperature up to + 230 °C, an industry-first for any resistor array built on thin film technology.

The Vishay Sfernice devices introduced today are ideal for oil level and pressure sensors, and temperature measurement in down-hole extraction tools and aeronautics engine and braking systems. The networks combine their high-temperature performance with load-life stability of 0.7 % after 2,000 hours at rated power and + 215 °C, as well as tight TCR of 10 ppm/°C, TCR tracking to 2 ppm/°C, and a ratio tolerance down to 0.05 %.

Available with 1 mm, 1.35 mm, or 1.82 mm pitches, the PRAHT series features resistance values from 10 Ω to 2 MΩ and power ratings from 10 mW to 20 mW per resistor. The devices offer very low noise < - 35 dB and voltage coefficient < 0.01 ppm/V. The RoHS-compliant networks are available with gold terminations for temperatures up to + 230 °C or SnAg terminations for temperatures to + 200 °C.

Samples and production quantities of Vishay’s new PRAHT resistor networks are available now, with lead times of 10 weeks for larger orders.
