Onkyo Licenses CSR aptX® Audio Codec for New Audiophile Products

CSR plc (LSE: CSR; NASDAQ: CSRE) today announced that another name in audio excellence, Onkyo, has chosen the CSR aptX audio codec to deliver wireless audio over Bluetooth® with high fidelity sound quality. Onkyo has deployed CSR aptX initially in two products: its UBT-1 adapter and its CS-245BT “Colibrino” CD Hi-Fi Mini System.

The UBT-1 is a USB adapter allowing Bluetooth-enabled wireless phones, tablets, and other devices to stream music directly to networked receivers through a USB port, utilising CSR’s aptX technology to deliver high quality audio. Likewise, the new CS-245BT CD “Colibrino” Hi-Fi Mini-System, a high quality, compact personal audio system featuring Bluetooth audio connectivity, uses aptX to deliver superior wireless audio performance.

“For audio leaders such as Onkyo – in the business of delivering superior sound to audiophiles since 1946 – there was only one choice when they came to implement Bluetooth connectivity into their product range. That choice was CSR aptX,” said Anthony Murray, Business Group SVP of CSR. “Companies of Onkyo’s calibre and distinguished history are now adopting CSR aptX to maintain their commitments to customers in providing sound quality that is as authentic as is possible, and is further evidence that aptX is continuing to redefine the market for wireless audio streaming.”

This announcement is further evidence of the rapid acceleration in the industry adoption of aptX. Other recent aptX milestones include deployments in products from Samsung, HTC and Beats – to name just a few. CSR aptX audio coding technology solves the problem of inferior Bluetooth audio quality, delivering improved, high-fidelity sound comparable to the CD quality consumers have come to expect from their electronic devices and home entertainment systems.

FUSE SIZING CONSIDERATIONS FOR HIGHER EFFICIENCY MOTORS

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays.
