Vishay Intertechnology Announces 10 New IHLP® Low-Profile, High-Current Inductors With Extended Temperature Ranges to + 155 °C

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today launched 10 new IHLP® low-profile, high-current inductors with extended temperature ranges to + 155 °C for automotive and commercial applications. The new − 51 and − 5A series devices are offered in 2525, 3232, 4040, 5050, and 6767 case sizes with low profiles down to 3.0 mm and a wide range of inductance values from 0.22 to 33 µH.

With a frequency range up to 1 MHz, the devices released today serve as high-performing, space- and power-saving solutions for voltage regulator module (VRM) and DC/DC converter applications. AEC-Q200 qualified, the IHLP-2525CZ-5A, IHLP-3232DZ-5A, IHLP-4040DZ-5A, IHLP-5050FD-5A, and IHLP-6767GZ-5A are designed for high-temperature automotive applications, including engine and transmission control units, diesel injection drivers, entertainment and navigation systems, noise suppression for motors, and power seats and mirrors.

The IHLP-2525CZ-51, IHLP-3232DZ-51, IHLP-4040DZ-51, IHLP-5050FD-51, and IHLP-6767GZ-51 are intended for high-temperature commercial applications, including next-generation mobile devices; notebooks, desktop computers, servers, graphic cards, portable gaming devices, personal navigation systems, and personal multimedia devices; low-profile, high-current power supplies and point of load (POL) converters; distributed power systems; and field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs).

The -51 and -5A series devices offer inductance values from 0.22 µH to 33 µH, saturation currents from 2.2 A up to 87.0 A, heat rating currents from 2.8 A to 63.0 A, and maximum DCR from 0.95 mΩto 174.0 mΩ.

The new inductors handle high transient current spikes without hard saturation. Packaged in an RoHS-compliant, 100 % lead (Pb)-free shielded, composite construction that reduces buzz noise to ultra-low levels, the devices are specified for an operating temperature range of − 55 °C to + 155 °C, with high resistance to thermal shock, moisture, mechanical shock, and vibration.
