IDI Announces Receipt of High Technology Certificate

Interconnect Devices, Inc. (IDI), a leading manufacturer of spring contact probes, test sockets and custom interconnect solutions and a Smiths Interconnect business, announces its wholly-owned subsidiary, IDI Suzhou, located in the Singapore Industrial Park of Suzhou, China has been awarded the High-Technology Enterprise Certificate (the “Certification”) by the municipal government of Suzhou.  

The Certification is awarded to qualified enterprises that meet the strict requirements and standards including:
  •     Over 60% of its total enterprise revenue is from high/new technology products
  •     Continuously engage in R&D activities
  •     Technical personnel with a college degree must comprise over 30% on the total personnel
  •     Own one invention patent or six utility patents
“This Certification is the evidence of IDI’s commitment and dedication to remaining a market leader and to bringing innovation to our customers,” said Gabriel Guglielmi, President of IDI. “We believe that this great accomplishment will further strengthen the on-going growth and success of IDI.”

FUSE SIZING CONSIDERATIONS FOR HIGHER EFFICIENCY MOTORS

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays.
