Product News: GR Resistance Decade

Prime Technology, LLC of North Branford, CT introduces the PDS series of programmable resistance decades, designed specifically for performing highly accurate calibration of resistance controllers.  For over 40 years, Prime Technology, LLC has been in the business of producing  instruments of an accuracy that permits critical testing of production line equipment and others of even higher accuracy that calibrate test instruments .

The PDS-99 has a resistance range from 1 Ohms to 1.2 Mohms while the PDS-85 and PDS-96 have a range of 0.1 Ohms to 300 Kohms and 100 mOhms to 10 Mohms, respectively. The temperature coefficient for each unit is less than 1 ppm/°C and all are capable of 2, 3 and 4 wire connection.

The accuracy of resistance for the PDS-99 (with 4 wires) at 16-400 Ohms is 0.003% (+/- 3 mOhms); from 400 Ohms to 2 Kohms the accuracy is 0.005%, and from 2-10 Kohms, 0.015%.  The PDS-85 has an accuracy of 0.05% (+/- 15 mOhms) between 10-200 Ohms, 0.02% between 200 Ohms – 10 Kohms, 0.05% at 10 Kohms -50Kohms, 0.1% at 50 – 100 Kohms, and 0.5% between 100 – 300 Kohms.  The PDS-96 has an accuracy of 0.05% (+/- 15 mOhms) at 0.1 – 200 Ohms, 0.02% at 200 Ohms to 2 Mohms, and 0.05% between 2 and 10 Mohms.

Both the PDS-99 and PDS-85/96 operate within a temperature range of 5-40°C and a voltage of 100-240VAC/50-60 Hz. The units feature a simple keypad operation for value selection and a back-lit LCD display for easy viewing.  Additionally, each model is conveniently programmable via a RS232 computer interface.  Weighing less than 9 pounds and enclosed in a robust metal housing make the resistance decades both portable and rugged.
