Product Highlight: LPT Pneumatically Actuated Timer

Precision Timer, the newest division of Prime Technology, LLC of North Branford, CT introduces the LPT pneumatic timer, a highly reliable, fully mechanical timer utilized in many applications for the safety and security industries. The LPT timer is highly repeatable and since it consists of only mechanical parts, functions in the event of power loss providing extra security for critical access control and egress exiting systems. The electromechanical design makes the LPT timer literally fail-proof and the robust design is certified for over 1,000,000 uses over the lifetime of the product.

More specifically, the LPT is a compact, pneumatically operated time delayed push button switch. It is conveniently and securely panel mounted. The mode of operation matches that of a true Off Delay in that no power is required to keep the time delay active after the push button is released. The LPT occupies a volume of less than 2.5 cubic inches and will switch loads of 10 amps resistive at 120/240 VAC. The load switch has solder terminals for wiring and standard timing is slotted screw adjustable from 2 seconds to 60 seconds, depending on the customer’s preference and application. Additionally, the timer can be purchased with or without leads (of any length), with customer’s preference as to wire gauge and color.

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays.
