Cooper Notification Introduces Industry's First LED Notification Appliances

Cooper Notification, a leading supplier of Life Safety and Mass Notification System (MNS) solutions, is excited to announce the introduction of the industry's first LED notification appliances. Cooper Notification's Wheelock Exceder™ Series expands to include LED horn strobes, strobes and horns in one of the smallest, most compact single gang designs. Cooper Notification is a solution platform of Cooper Industries plc (NYSE: CBE), a global provider of electrical solutions.

As the first LED notification appliances to be UL listed for both public and private mode Life Safety applications, Cooper Notification's patented technology provides the industry's lowest current draw. It allows for energy savings of up to 52 percent compared to competitive models.  Using LED as the strobe light source, the product incorporates high efficiency optics to minimize current draw. This allows for a greater number of appliances on the notification appliance circuit and fewer power supplies.

FUSE SIZING CONSIDERATIONS FOR HIGHER EFFICIENCY MOTORS

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays.
