Samsung Electro-Mechanics 220µF / 6.3V and 100uF / 10V MLCC

Samsung Electro-Mechanics latest high capacitance MLCC targets replacement of Al- & Tantalum Caps. The new MLCC 1210 size with 220µF 6.3V and 100µF 10V targets the replacement of Aluminium and Tantalum capacitors. These parts are perfect for buffering voltages between 3.3V and 5V.

MLCC have several advantages against Al- and Tantalum caps:
smaller size, lower ESR, higher reliability, long term stability, no polarization. At frequencies above 10kHz the ESR of MLCC is 5 times lower compared to Al- & Tantalum caps. Above 100kHz it is even 10 times lower. Hence, smaller capacitance values are sufficient for buffering.

Both types are also available with soft termination to meet highest bending strength.

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays.
