ITC Shows Good Form With New Cutter

Paying close attention to customer feedback, ITC has now extended the extremely popular 3041 Cyber Series of three fluted end mills to incorporate a radius on all diameter sizes. The market leading Tamworth based manufacturer has expanded its carbide cutting tool range of aluminium and soft non-ferrous material cutters popular among the aerospace, medical and motorsport industries.

The 3 flute solid carbide single and square end series has made a significant impact in the marketplace since its recent introduction. The straight shank, right hand cut series with its 55 degree right hand helix is well suited to the rapid removal of ‘soft’ material and its swarf from the work area. Designed to deliver remarkable performance on soft materials, it is the special flute geometry that contributes to this excellent swarf clearance.

Outstanding surface finish is guaranteed due to the cutters rigidity and the circular land and end teeth ‘wipers’. The new 3041 Cyber Series with radius is available in 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8mm diameters with a choice of 0.5 or 1mm radius. The 8, 10, 12, 16, 20mm diameter cutters are available in 0.5mm increments from 0.5mm up to 2mm to meet the varying needs of its customers. However, ITC can offer additional sizes and radii upon request and as a UK based manufacturer, a rapid turnaround is a given – something ITC is finely attuned to with its wide spectrum of F1 and aerospace customers. The wide range of radii, make the 3041 Series the cutter of choice for machining forms in pockets.

The 3041 Cyber Series has a length of cut ranging from 12mm to 40mm with an overall length from 38mm on the 3mm diameter to 100mm on the 20mm diameter cutters. Research and development at ITC has found that these respective lengths provide the optimal cutting conditions with regard to productivity whilst the surface finish and tool life achieved with the 3041 is also way beyond that of competitor cutters. Customers wanting to machine deep pockets or long faces can find their solution with the 3051 Series of long length end mills.
