Riello To Demonstrate Power-Protection Systems

Riello will be attending a series of exhibitions selected to put the company in direct contact with customers requiring uninterruptible power-supply systems to protect mission-critical applications. Beginning the year, Riello UPS will be at the Data Centre World Conference and Expo on 23-24 February. Sales and technical representatives will be available to demonstrate and discuss the range of power-protection systems suitable for the data-centre environment.

The largest free exhibition and conference for data-centre professionals in the UK, Data Centre World examines the issues surrounding the selection, outsourcing, building and running of a data centre. Riello UPS is also continuing platinum sponsorship of the Datacenter Dynamics Conference series. The company also has a seminar tour planned for early summer, to be followed by attendance at the British Moto GP at Silverstone, where the company is a sponsor of the Ducati Corse Moto GP team.

Later in the year, the company will be in attendance at the RARE (Risk and Resilience Expo) to demonstrate how Riello UPS and standby power systems offer high levels of resilience, supported by personnel and management systems.

FUSE SIZING CONSIDERATIONS FOR HIGHER EFFICIENCY MOTORS

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved.
