Mettler Toledo Presents Weighing Solutions

Mettler Toledo will be exhibiting its product and service offerings for the food industry on stand VO40 at Foodex 2010. From research and development to storage and despatch, Mettler Toledo supplies weighing and analytical equipment to suit all budgets and applications. The company offers analysers for fast, accurate determination of moisture, salt, Brix, pH, per cent solids and acidity to ensure product quality, taste and appearance.

On-stand highlights include ultra-rapid halogen analysers, titrators and refractometers. Industrial scales and terminals, constructed in stainless steel to IP69k, EHEDG, HACCP and NSF standards, will be on show, as well as software solutions that can prove regulatory compliance, reduce product giveaway and maximise process efficiency. The X-ray Combiweigher will be also displayed, which combines underweight/overweight with X-ray detection of foreign bodies such as glass, metal and bone.

FUSE SIZING CONSIDERATIONS FOR HIGHER EFFICIENCY MOTORS

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved.
