Vyon Plastics for Controlled-Release Applications

Porvair Filtration has announced that its Vyon sintered porous plastic materials have been used to provide an efficient matrix for precise controlled release of chemicals and fragrances. Vyon materials have been used for many years for controlled release, the company said. A new fragrance release product has recently been developed using a fine grade of the Vyon material. The new material is said to combine high porosity and ultra-fine microporous structure and delivers good controlled-release performance over an extended period of time.

Porvair Filtration said applications that have benefitted from the properties of Vyon sintered porous plastics include controlled release of disinfectant chemicals and fragrance emanation for toiletry products manufacturers. Available in sheet, tube and almost any three-dimensional moulding in a range of pore sizes (10-100 micron), Vyon plastics are FDA and WRAS approved, easily cleanable, strong, rigid and self-supporting, with a long life expectancy and high chemical resistance. These materials can be purchased for OEM products or integrated and packaged into finished products.
