Dorgard Installed at Doncaster Racecourse

Dorgard wireless fire door retainers from Fireco have been installed at Doncaster Racecourse, Exhibition and Conference Centre to legally and safely hold open fire doors. Dorgard allows the door to close when the fire alarm sounds, preventing the spread of fire and smoke. Installed onto the bottom of the fire door in less than five minutes, Dorgard responds to a continuous fire alarm of 65dBA or higher and is accepted by the Fire and Rescue Service.

Features include a wireless unit with fail-to-safe technology. Dorgard improves access throughout buildings in line with the DDA and complies with BS EN 1155. Available in a variety of colours and finishes, Dorgard features automatic night-time release facility, adjustable sensitivity, complies with BS 7273-4 category C and is CE marked.

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved.
