DGH Introduces Smart Data Acquisition Modules

DGH has introduced the D6000 series of seven-channel analogue-input smart data acquisition modules that communicate using the Modbus RTU protocol with RS-485 output. The D6000 series allows sensors to be interfaced to any computer or processor-based equipment that contains a serial port. It consists of modules that measure voltage (+/-25mV, +/-50mV, +/-100mV, +/-1V, +/-5V and +/-10V), current (+/-20mA), thermocouples (J, K, T, E, R, S, B and C) and a universal module that accepts all of the above.

Up to 247 modules or 1,729 channels can be strung on a pair wire to a serial port on a host computer. The measurement resolution is 16 bits. Accuracy is a maximum of +/-0.05 per cent of full scale, while the conversion rate is 8/s to 25/s. Input-to-output isolation is 500Vrms and input burnout protection is 250VAC. Transient suppression on all RS-485 lines is provided. The modules contain a customer-programmable digital filter. All scaling, linearisation and calibration and communications values are stored in EEPROM, eliminating the need for pots or switches. Communication features include channel address, baud rate (9,600 to 115K) parity and checksum.

The series also includes a two-channel analogue-output module with 12-bit DAC resolution, programmable voltage or current outputs at 250 conversions per second. Modules with 15-bit digital input and digital output are also available. The modules are packaged in a 6 x 4 x 1.5in ABS case with plug-in screw terminal connectors. Each module requires +10VDC to +30VDC unregulated supply. Rated performance is specified from -25C to +70C.
