Irish Drink Producers Employ Euromark Printers

Euromark, a supplier of continuous inkjet (CIJ) printers and barcode systems, has received a number of orders from Irish beverage producers, such as Diageo, Antrim Hills and Cooley Distilleries. Equipment supplied by Euromark includes a range of Hitachi CIJ printers, barcode systems and portable print systems, which are all supported by the company's technical support. One of Euromark's earliest Irish customers, which is already seeing a return on its investment, is Dublin-based premium drinks business Diageo, who purchased three Hitachi coders following a successful trial of the equipment.

Diageo's continuous improvement engineering trainer, Chris Grehan, said the company had been impressed by Euromark's level of service, knowledge and assistance. The three Hitachi printers that Diageo has on site are being used to track and trace information on beer kegs and achieving more than 1,000 impressions per hour. Diageo has reported the Hitachis to be extremely reliable and economical in terms of consumables, which it also orders directly through Euromark.

Cooley Distillery, which is claimed to be the only independent Irish-owned whiskey distillery, also turned to Euromark for its Hitachi printers. Euromark supplied two Hitachi coders, which are being used to batch code up to 10,000 various sized and shaped whiskey bottles a day. Representatives from the distillery said they found the equipment to be low maintenance and reliable. Other services from Euromark include waste disposal and ink recovery applications, training courses, bespoke marking applications and customised software.
