DIN Rail Signal Amplifiers for Use with PLCs
RDP Electronics' DR7 series signal amplifiers are increasingly being used in conjunction with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) in situations where enclosure space is at a premium. PLCs typically have terminations for I/O from a number of control and measurement devices, including signal input from linear variable differential transformers (LVDTs), strain gauges, loadcells, pressure transducers and torque transducers.
DR7 amplifiers can clip on to the DIN rail alongside the PLCs, offering the benefit of short interconnecting cables and often operating from the same 24V supply. With transducer excitation options of 1V or 3V RMS at either 3kHz or 5kHz carrier signal excitation, the DR7 provides full-range output of either +/-10V or 4-20mA from switched selectable input signal levels ranging from 20mV to 4V RMS.
