Ductless Fume Hood is Environmentally Friendly

Air Science has introduced the Purair Eco line of energy-saving ductless fume hoods, designed to provide chemical and particulate protection over a range of laboratory and industrial applications. According to Air Science, Purair Eco is a safe, cost-effective and energy-efficient ductless containment cabinet that minimises stress on facility HVAC systems without compromising protection for personnel and the environment.

It is available with a choice of controllers, including the company's Ecoair touchpad control with colour-display interface. An optional BACnet network interface connects all cabinet control, monitoring and alarm functions to an open-source facility-monitoring system. The system is based on an industry-wide, non-proprietary ASHRAE-compliant protocol for green building management. The Purair Eco is available in five standard sizes from 30 to 69in wide. When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved.
