Metrohm on-Line Salt Analyser for Food Industry

Metrohm has announced that the Alert Ion Analyzer for sodium analysis features a Sodium Ion Selective Polymer electrode. Salt, or sodium chloride, is used as a preservative, spice, agent for colour maintenance, texture, and to regulate fermentation by stopping the growth of bacteria.

Aside from a sample supply, the Alert Ion Analyzer only requires a sodium standard solution, which is used for automatic calibration, and the Dynamic Standard Addition technology to remove interferences and validate every result as correct. The Alert Ion Analyzer is delivered for analysis of sodium in the range 50-5,000mg/l but can be modified by changing the concentration of the sodium standard. Consumption of standard is approximately 1ml per analysis.
