Marl Designs Bespoke Infrared LED Assemblies

Marl has announced that it has the capability to design and manufacture bespoke infrared LED assemblies associated, if required, with floodlights. These lights are increasingly popular in applications where they are used in association with night-vision cameras and goggles. Customers for these assemblies will include security and perimeter protection organisations, as well as the military. Marl is able to build and deliver infrared LEDs with wavelengths of 880nm or 940nm. These can be built into a housing to suit the customer's specification, including sealing to IP67 if required.

Dual optimised lens assemblies for spot and flood lighting can be provided in association with the LED, which can be built into a robust housing made of anodised aluminium or another suitable material. David Moorhouse, operations director at Marl, said: 'Infrared LEDs are robust and power efficient and can withstand high levels of shock and vibration. 'They are thus ideal for defence and other demanding applications,' he added. Marl's LED specialists offer a full service, including custom LED driver design and can build on a bespoke customer production line.

They can deliver assemblies including metal-clad PCBs, high-grade wiring looms and IP-sealed connector technology together with custom-designed vibration-proof fasteners if required. It offers laser-cutting facilities, can produce formed or welded metal parts, bespoke aluminium extrusions, as well as custom moulded parts. Assemblies can be finished using wet paint, powder coating, or anodising processes, and can be laser etched if required. Sequential part serialisation is also available.
