ACS-2625 Box PC Performs Intensive Calculations

DSL has launched Box PC based on the 2.33GHz Intel Core2Duo processor, with up to 4GB of DDR2 RAM, for use where intensive calculations are required and for advanced graphical multimedia applications. The ACS-2625 Box PC offers flexible connectivity including dual 10/100Mbps LANs, four USB 2.0 ports, three serial ports and Firewire, along with full audio I/O functionality and optional TV output.

For additional flexibility, the latest DSL Box PC provides 2.5in HDD and Compactflash support, as well as two PCI expansion slots. The robust and compact unit also has FCC, CE Class A EMC certification. The ACS-2625 Box PC offers a powerful and cost-effective solution for applications that require high-end processing along with flexible connectivity and I/O support.

FUSE SIZING CONSIDERATIONS FOR HIGHER EFFICIENCY MOTORS

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved. However, if sizing at this level prevents the motor from starting, it may then be necessary to increase the fuse ampere rating and it then becomes important to know the NEC sizing limitations.
