MSC Offers Extended Holdover Crystal Oscillator for Use in Wireless Base Stations

MSC is offering Vectron’s MD-023 Extended Holdover Crystal Oscillator (EHXO) for use in wireless base stations. The MD-023 is said to ensure precision timing, even when GPS is susceptible to urban canyon effects or intermittent jamming; where high traffic levels make network-derived timing unavailable or where the external source of timing is otherwise compromised.

According to MSC, the instrument enables cost savings of up to 50 per cent compared with conventional, high-stability rubidium oscillators.
