hyperMILL® 2011: Automated Programming, Time-Saving Machining

OPEN MIND Technologies AG will present its CAM software hyperMILL® 2011 at EuroMold 2010 in Frankfurt, Germany. In Hall 8.0, Stand N01, and at various shared and partner stands, OPEN MIND will conduct live demonstrations of how hyperMILL® enables automated programming and time-saving machining. Additional highlights at the OPEN MIND stand: hyperMAXX®, the strategy for high-performance roughing, hyperCAD®, the 2D and 3D CAD system, the CAD-integrated solutions for SolidWorks® and Autodesk® Inventor® as well as the CAM software hyperDENT® for the dental industry. OPEN MIND's appearance at EuroMold will include presentations and short demonstrations of hyperMAXX® and the new features of hyperMILL® 2011.

OPEN MIND Technologies AG is introducing hyperMILL® 2011 CAM software, which has been enhanced with new features and machining strategies, at EuroMold in Frankfurt. Under the tagline ‘automated programming, time-saving machining’, the software development firm will demonstrate how hyperMILL® enables complex programming tasks to be implemented quickly and easily. The machining of a moulded component and high-performance milling will be demonstrated on a Hermle C 40 together with the company’s partner EMUGE-FRANKEN. Millhouse GmbH will present the open CAM programming software hyperDENT®, designed for the dental industry, at the OPEN MIND stand. Furthermore, OPEN MIND is also represented at the German Association of Tool and Mould Makers (Verband Deutscher Werkzeug- und Formenbauer e.V., at Hall 11.0, Stand B08) and the Wolpert Group (Hall 8.0, Stand K110).

FUSE SIZING CONSIDERATIONS FOR HIGHER EFFICIENCY MOTORS

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved.
