Thermal-Imaging Camears Get Extended Warranty

All Flir uncooled, handheld thermal-imaging cameras for plant maintenance and building applications are now subject to a 100 per cent increase on their standard warranty. Upon online registration, a qualifying Flir camera will now have two years of cover on the entire unit. This is in addition to a 10-year warranty on the uncooled microbolometer detector itself.

For many years, Flir has been making its own detector cores, latterly in sufficiently high quantity to pass on manufacturing economies to camera customers. As the company also produces its own optics, it has a high level of vertical integration in the thermal-imaging market. According to Flir, this ensures that all of the vital elements in the camera carry the same quality standard.
