Asset Management Software for Hazardous Areas

At Maintec 2011, Cordex Instruments introduced CAMS, its asset management and reporting software for maintenance professionals in hazardous areas. The solution combines image editing and manipulation capabilities with detailed reporting software. This software will work with all Cordex explosion-proof digital cameras and any other digital camera. It enables photos to be organised into albums for easy and fast report creation.

Images can be stored by location, name, date or job number. Once imported to the CAMS database, images can be edited using features such as crop, rotate, resize, palette change, added brightness and contrast. Notes can be added and key areas highlighted according to their severity. In addition to storing equipment details, CAMS receives new product updates and other important user information from Cordex Instruments.

A report is generated by compiling image data from all parts of CAMS. The system takes specific information from the profile entry, the image annotations and the equipment details to automatically generate a selection of high-quality pdf reports in minutes. The software also enables the user to associate the camera used to obtain the image, for inclusion in the report. CAMS is said to provide the best content management tools to do the job, but also the facility to apply them to any combination of cameras.
